Water Staining on Ceiling Indicates a Problem That Should Not Be Ignored
This commercial building has suffered from multiple roof leaks over the years. As a result of the roof not being fixed in a timely manner, there were many areas of the ceiling in various spots of the building that had old water damage.
SERVPRO was called in to do some exploratory demolition of the ceiling areas to expose what was behind the water staining. After extensive demolition, the water staining was removed and left open to ensure no further damage was done until the business could decide how to reconstruct the affected areas.
SERVPRO is often asked to do a visual inspection of areas that look concerning. Since neither SERVPRO or our customer have x-ray vision, it is sometimes necessary to remove some affected materials in order to see what lies beneath or behind or above. If you have old stains on your ceiling that should be looked at, please give our office a call. We are Here To Help.
In the first photo, you can see the staining on the ceiling tile. In the second photo, you will see that a larger section of ceiling tile was removed because the extent of the damage went beyond what could be seen from the floor.
