SERVPRO Employee Disinfecting Railroad Repair Equipment Due to COVID-19

SERVPRO of SW Waukesha County and SERVPRO of Jefferson County/Oconomowoc cares about the communities that we service and the supply chain needed for us all during this pandemic.  On August 19, 2020 we disinfected 15 railroad repair heavy pieces of equipment used to keep our supply train moving.

Chemical Spill Led to a Call to SERVPRO of SW Waukesha County

SERVPRO of SW Waukesha County was called to a home after a highly caustic chemical was accidentally spilled in a walk in closet. The homeowner dropped the bottle and the chemical spilled all over.  

SERVPRO has the experience you need to properly clean up almost every spill. This particular chemical was extremely difficult to clean up and our hard work did get rid of the chemical but the floor damage was not able to be reversed. Our display shows an air mover that we use to dry out structures, spreading hearts and love to the community. Sarah, our marketing representative, had the idea to show our support by coming up with this design. Asbestos wrap found during cleanup

This SE Wisconsin home recently had a fire in the basement and it left smoke and soot damage on everything, including these HVAC system.

This photo shows the ducting covered with asbestos wrap/insulation. The soot embedded itself into the asbestos insulation and needed to be removed in order to get rid of the smoke odor. Only a Wisconsin certified asbestos abatement vendor can be called; and SERVPRO of Southwest Waukesha was able to help. The material was safely removed according to abatement guidelines.

SERVPRO of SW Waukesha County Conducts Restoration

An overflowing toilet caused significant water damage to this home in New Berlin, WI.  Because this was contaminated water, all the porous materials that came in contact with the water had to be thrown away or replaced.

Phase 1 of this job was called the mitigation portion.  This requires SERVPRO of SW Waukesha County technicians to move contents, tear out whatever needs to be tore out, clean and disinfect salvageable contents and the remaining structure. 

Phase 2 is the rebuild portion of the job, sometimes called the repairs.  In this photo, you will see how SERVPRO has coordinated for the new drywall to be installed.

On the weekend of December 7, 2019, SERVPRO of SW Waukesha County was the presenting sponsor of the annual Holiday Breakfast with Reindeer which was hosted by the Delafield Chamber of Commerce.  

The event and food was free to the community but food and money donations were requested.  SERVPRO and the other sponsors helped fill these food bins that are seen in the photo.  There were 8 bins and we are proud to say that the Delafield Community came together and was able to fill all of them.  This does not count the money donations that were also received.

SERVPRO of SW Waukesha County Called For Mold Issue

SERVPRO of SW Waukesha County was called to help this Dousman, WI home owner.  During a recent wind and rain storm, this customer had rain water in his basement.  He thought that he was able to take care of it himself.  Weeks later he started smelling mold and called SERVPRO of SW Waukesha County to help figure out the problem.  Mold was discovered behind his heating base boards.  Even though he thought he would dry out himself, it was not done properly.

Basement Floor Damaged and SERVPRO Helps

A home in Helenville, WI that had a flood in their basement had water enter in from their exposed entrance.  They also had a secondary kitchen with hardwood floors that get wet.  SERVPRO was called to inspect.  This picture shows the "cupping" of the floor.  Even though SERVPRO has the equipment to dry hardwood floor, this flooring was beyond repair and had to be removed.  SERVPRO's technicians have the training and experience to help determine if and when materials can be salvaged or not.  In this case, the charge and cost to the customer to try and save this floor would not be worth it.  The technicians at were able to remove the hardwood floor safely and efficiently in order to dry the structure so replacement floor could be installed.

SERVPRO of SW Waukesha County was called out to this property in Brookfield, WI because heavy rain from a storm caused water to back up into the basement.  This was not a small job.  The entire partially finished basement was filled with water.  This job required many different types and pieces of equipment.

SERVPRO was dispatched out to a fire loss in New Berlin, WI where there were electronics that took a new shape.

Even though the fire was deemed a total loss, SERVPRO still has plenty of areas they help in clean up and getting the house ready for tear down. Inventory of all of the customer's belongings and cleanup of the debris from the fire.

In this picture some of the electronics were pulled from the fire and you can see the unique shapes that plastic around electronics can form. Sometimes the electronics have saving hardware attached to it and the customers information can still be saved.

SERVPRO of Southwest Waukesha was dispatched to a job in New Berlin, WI this past week to a fire. This fire ended up being a total loss but our crew still had many tasks to do on this jobsite before the home is taken down.

The crew performed an inventory list of all items in the house whether salvageable or not. This list includes all items from silverware to furniture and so much more.

After the inventory has been completed our staff performed a pack out of the items to bring back to the warehouse for Ozone Treatment and Cleaning of salvageable items.

An Ozone Treatment deodorizes, disinfects, and kills or removes dangerous or irritating airborne particles in indoor environments. 

The crew finished up with cleaning out the house of all the debris that was left from the fire.

The moisture meter being used is a penetrating moisture meter which have probes to allow testing within wall cavities and underneath wood flooring systems, causing minimal damage to the surface.
